Lickershamn with surroundings

Lickershamn is located on the northwestern part of Gotland, 25 km and approx. 20 min drive on road 149 from Visby. When you turn off towards Lickershamn, you’ll soon sense the horizon and the sea below, before reaching the picturesque fishing harbor. Once there, turn right and after passing Lickerskrogen and the car park, you’ll have the newly built, gray barn in the spotlight.

The sea is constantly present here. The feeling of coming out here by car on a clear October night is special. When you open the car door, you suddenly hear the noise of waves and when you step out of the car, a starry sky opens up that is completely free from city lights, a stunning experience! Regardless of season, you experience the brutal power of the sea, but once inside the barn you only see the forces; the windows that show the spectacle are extra soundproof.

In the summer, in addition to the restaurant, Lickershamn offers a fish stall with fresh and smoked fish, a well-visited guest harbor, pottery, fine sandy beach, tennis court, mini golf course and camping. At the far end of the southern part of the bay is the famous rauk "Jungfrun" with its distinctive history. Up in the nearby Stenkyrka is a well-stocked Tempo and two more restaurants, "Stenkyrka Mejeri" and by the church "Ett litet Crêperie". In addition, there is a take away, "Linnéas Lucka," which offers coffee and lunch dishes. Up here there is also another pottery, CALK. Otherwise, hiking is part of the area's attractions. 60 kilometres of a beautiful, coastline hiking trail that starts in Visby and ends in Kappelshamn passes Lickershamn. Sea trout fishing has also become popular in the area, especially in spring and autumn. There is also a rich bird life with both White tailed and Golden Eagle.

A few kilometers north is the beautiful Ireviken with a several kilometers long beach and a cottage area. Here, too, you’ll find a restaurant close to the sea.
